PTDS provides a range of specialist diagnostic pathology tests to veterinary colleagues

Our strengths centre on providing complete support in all aspects of diagnostic pathology. That support revolves around close communication by telephone or email.

Our services include clinical research and diagnosis using specialised cytopathology and histopathology, alongside innovative molecular quantitative PCR technology and an array of immunohistochemistry.

Our care, continuity and genuine attention to the needs of veterinary colleagues helps you provide the best treatment for your patients.

As you would expect, quality assurance and validated testing lie behind all we do. When you ask us to perform tests, we provide specific and precise clinical comments or interpretations alongside every result.

We offer an overnight courier service, out of hours telephone support and, of course, direct reporting and transfer of data.

With our advanced training in clinical pathology and especially cytopathology, we aim to provide the highest standard of diagnostic results across the board.  Cytopathology reports are specific for each case, including detailed descriptions and defined interpretations. Targeted testing is then advised in reaching a definitive diagnosis to help vets treat their patients appropriately.

Typical response times with results and commentary are the same day on most tests, although culture and sensitivity testing usually takes up to three days.  We know though that speed is often important, not least because animal owners are often concerned. The quality of information we're given by vets really helps us provide the most help.

All our samples are sorted appropriately when we pick up, so blood samples stay refridgerated to ensure their quality remains high.  Urgent samples are separated out so they can be prioritised and we know then our sample delivery is the best it can be.
