PTDS is an independent veterinary laboratory, now established for three years and situated on the same business park as Davies Veterinary Specialists (DVS – see links) with whom it works closely on a daily basis.

It is managed by Roger Powell, a boarded clinical pathologist, to provide accurate and reliable results for diagnostic tests.  We cover a wide range of species, from small animal and equine to exotics and large animal. This service is improved by direct access to other dedicated clinical pathologists, histopathologists and specialists within the larger TDDS group such that the quality of results and clinical interpretations remains of the highest standard.

Roger is the principal clinical pathologist, being a diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Pathology and a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists.  His keen interest is cytology and haematology and he is always happy to discuss diagnostic results and ‘in house’ testing to help veterinary surgeons and their patients.

Clare Doyle joined the laboratory in May 2010, having trained as a clinical pathologist at the Royal Veterinary College and is also a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists. She enjoys all aspects of cytology, haematology and biochemistry, particularly the opportunity to put the results of diagnostic testing into their clinical context.

We believe direct personal contact and telephone back up between our pathologists and referring vets provides the best outcome for your patients and owners.
