PTDS was established on the same business park as Davies Veterinary Specialists (DVS – see links) in January 2008, with whom it works closely on a daily basis. This relationship augments the multitude of diagnostic testing available to clinicians, from rapid complete profiles and cytology to MRI and CT, all enhanced by specialised and accessible consultation.

It is an independent veterinary laboratory that is managed by a boarded clinical pathologist to provide accurate and reliable results for diagnostic tests. We cover a wide range of species, from small animal and equine to exotics and large animal. This service is improved by direct access to other dedicated clinical pathologists, histopathologists and specialists within the larger TDDS group such that the quality of results and clinical interpretations remains of the highest standard.

Roger Powell is the principal clinical pathologist, holding Diplomate status in both the Royal College of Pathologists and the American College of Veterinary Pathology. His keen interest is cytology and haematology, but he is always happy to discuss diagnostic results and ‘in house’ testing to help veterinary surgeons and their patients. The best outcome for the patient is always achieved through close dialogue between the owner and their vet as well as the vet and their pathologist.
